Privacy policy

Effective November 1, 2026

Your privacy matters to me, on this website and in the counseling room. Here’s a plain explanation of what this site collects, what it doesn’t, and what happens when you reach out.

The short version

This website is here to help you get to know me and reach out if you’d like to. It doesn’t have any forms, it doesn’t ask you to create an account, and it doesn’t ask you to share anything about your health. I don’t sell or share information about the people who visit it.

What this site collects

When you visit, the platform this website runs on (Framer) records basic, anonymous visit information, like which pages are viewed, roughly which country or region visits come from, and what kind of device and browser are used. This helps me understand whether the site is useful.

This information doesn’t tell me who you are, and it isn’t used to follow you around the internet. I don’t use Google Analytics or any advertising tools on this site.

Cookies

This site doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and it doesn’t use tools like the Facebook (Meta) pixel. That’s why you won’t see a cookie banner here. If that ever changes, I’ll update this page and ask for your permission first.

When you contact me

If you call, text, or email me, I’ll receive your name, your contact details, and whatever you choose to share. I use that only to reply to you and, if we decide to work together, to get you set up as a client. I won’t add you to a mailing list or share your details with anyone else.

Email and text messages aren’t a fully secure way to share private health information. When you first reach out, a short note is plenty: your name, the best way to reach you, and a good time to talk. We’ll cover the rest together on our call.

When you book a free call or a session, you’ll do it through SimplePractice, the secure, HIPAA-compliant platform I use for scheduling, client paperwork, and billing. Anything you enter there is handled under SimplePractice’s own privacy policy.

If you become a client

Once we start working together, your records are kept in SimplePractice and protected by the privacy laws that apply to counseling. I don’t bill insurance, so I never collect insurance information from you. If you’d like to use out-of-network benefits, I can give you a superbill, which is a receipt for our sessions that you can submit to your insurance yourself. Along with your intake forms in SimplePractice, you’ll receive my Notice of Privacy Practices, which explains how your health information is used and protected and what your rights are. You can ask me questions about it anytime.

Links to other websites

This site links to a few other places, like my Psychology Today profile and my SimplePractice client portal. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and I’d encourage you to read them.

Teens and children

I work with teenagers, but this website isn’t designed to collect information from children. If you’re a parent reaching out for your teen, you’re welcome to contact me directly and we’ll talk through how it all works.

Changes to this policy

If anything about how this site works changes, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.

Questions about your privacy

If you have any questions about this policy or your information, I’m happy to talk them through.
